“In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary,” Aaron Rose
My blogging purpose is to encourage us to look for the positive in people and things around us. Despite the problems in our lives and nations, I believe that in our trials we can agree to work together. As with most trials, they can feel less intense because we understand and are understood regarding our differences and similarities.
Yes, it may be hard to achieve a sense of unity even with shared goals, such as living peaceably as neighbors. But, with the threat of wars and rampant divisiveness at home and abroad, it seems a great and timely idea to counteract these fears with proper common sense, courage, and a good dose of faith in ourselves.
Now, I am not an idealist, “Pollyanna” or an otherworldly dreamer. I just think that we already have unordinary abilities among us just “plain folks” that are needed right now; so let’s talk about the positives, the simple skills and the goodwill we already have.
Our world, our nations, cities and families need us to be a community of problem-solvers, healers, seekers of light and truth! What we need is peacemakers, not partisans, and the will to be our best our best selves.
Extraordinariness is all around us if we open our eyes and hearts. We’ve worked together to touch the surface of the Moon & Mars. We have been through wars and catastrophes and their aftermath. We have rebuilt & cleaned up, consoled grief, and still managed to teach our children how to be kind to all people: these and many other mundane, daily things we do.
But I believe that no one and NOTHING is ORDINARY! “Everything is extraordinary.”
“There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations—these are mortal…. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit—(either) immortal horrors or everlasting splendours.” The Weight of Glory, C. S. Lewis
